Online streaming services has become very popular in the past two years. Each and every movie from Hollywood to local languages has been uploading to this streaming services with in few months of the release.

Whenever the topic of online streaming services comes into picture, the first that would strike to us is Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu and many more. Almost, all the top movies are getting partnered with these sites and providing the services to people.

Well, now a competitor for these sites such as Netflix and Amazon is getting ready to hit in 2019.

Disney movies has a very good response all over the world. Movies such as Cars franchise, Jungle Book, Cinderella, Zootopia, Beauty and the beast and many more are being produced.

And recently Disney also got into news by purchasing the rights of Marvel Cinematic Universe and Fox studios and their superhero characters. Now there is also a chance we can get a crossover of Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men movie.

Now, very recently Disney has announced it’s own online streaming service named Disney Play. Till now, there is no clear information about what programs or movies are going to be streamed in it. But, still, the CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, has told that there will be no R-Rated movies or shows streaming on this website such as Deadpool and similar. All these movies will continue it’s agreement in the existing platforms.

Many movies that belongs to Fox and Marvel has made an agreement with existing services such as Netflix, Amazon and Hulu. Most of the movies agreements, such as Coco, Thor: Ragnarok and many more, are going to be expired in the year of 2019. So, maybe all these movies that belongs to Disney, MCU and Fox may be streamed in Disney Play from 2020.

When price comes into picture, Disney wants to attract it’s customer(actually it wants to hit netflix very hard ). So the initial price of monthly subscription will be around 8$ to 14$, which is comparatively less from other providers.

Well, very recently variety has broke a news that is going to hurt MCU and its fans. Since, Disney Play plans take on its rivals, a new series is in plan to aired on it. And it belongs to main characters in the Marvel Universe.

Disney play actually planning to rope Tom Hiddleston (a.k.a Loki) and Elizabeth Olsen(a.k.a Scarlett Witch) to episodic TV shows based in the MCU and featuring core MCU characters. The six-to-eight-episode miniseries events will be headed by Kevin Feige himself and will have budgets (or at least production values) comparable to the theatrical MCU movies.

This shows that Disney’s streaming service is playing for, keeps offering TV shows within the Star Wars and MCU continuity that feature production values worthy of, and critical characters from their theatrical counterparts. Disney is willing to risk diluting the specialness of their most significant theatrical properties right as those brands are at their most vulnerable (after Avengers 4 and after Star Wars Episode IX), to get a potentially permanent foothold in the streaming wars. Will a theoretical Shuri miniseries lessen the specialness of seeing her again in Black Panther 2? I don’t know. But as long the notion of a limited-series Loki: Asshole of Asgard gets folks to subscribe to the Disney streaming platform, then it’s a measured victory either way.
